Quebec City, Canada

Fly into Quebec City at your leisure and enjoy this lovely town full of history and culture. We will meet at the beautiful Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac.

In the late afternoon, there will be a briefing on the Journey including a review of the first flight leg which will take us over Quebec to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland.

This evening we will gather for a welcome cocktail to get acquainted with the group before we enjoy our first dinner together.

Kangerlussuaq, Greenland

Fly over the immense forests and numerous lakes of Canada on our way to Kuujjuaq, in northern Canada, for a technical stop, Then continue over southern Greenland’s beautiful scenery before landing at Kangerlussuaq in western, Greenland.

The airport’s Kangerlussuaq Museum illustrates the town’s past as a U.S. airbase during WWII.

Because we will be approaching the Arctic Circle and the “land of the midnight sun”, we will have an astonishing 20 hours of daylight!

Reykjavik, Iceland

Fly over the ice-covered expanse of Greenland, leading us to the captivating landscapes of Iceland. Upon arrival in Reykjavik, we’ll be welcomed to the luxurious Hotel Borg, centrally located overlooking the picturesque square of Austurvollur and iconic landmarks like the Icelandic parliament and cathedral. After savoring a delightful dinner, you’re free to immerse yourself in Reykjavik’s vibrant nightlife.

Day two promises an exploration of Iceland’s most renowned natural wonders. From the legendary Geysir and majestic Gullfoss Waterfall to the volcanic crater Kerid and the geological marvels of Thingvellir National Park, each destination offers a glimpse into the country’s captivating beauty and rich history. Our adventure continues with a flight to Shannon, where we’ll be whisked away to the magnificent Dromoland Castle. Nestled amidst acres of lush lawns and overlooking a pristine lake, this 5-star castle hotel boasts a rich heritage dating back to the 5th century, once home to Gaelic Royalty descended from the legendary High King of Ireland, Brian Boru.

Day two invites us to explore the picturesque countryside, starting with visits to the historic towns of Bunratty and Limerick. Our Journey continues with a scenic flight to Menorca, one of the enchanting Balearic Islands nestled in the Mediterranean Sea. Upon arrival, indulge in the rustic charm of Hotel Torralbenc, a tranquil haven surrounded by lush farmland and overlooking the azure waters. Lucerne, Switzerland

Our next destination is Lucerne, Switzerland, where we’ll be awestruck by the captivating beauty of the Swiss Alps and the serene Lake Lucerne. Nestled atop a mountain, the Burgenstock Hotel offers breathtaking panoramic views of the lake, with its deep hues contrasting against the lush greens of the surrounding countryside, and the majestic Alps looming in the distance.

On day two, our adventure continues with a guided exploration of Lucerne’s historic treasures. Descend to the marina and Lake Lucerne via the hotel’s private funicular, where we’ll embark on a leisurely boat excursion, taking in the mesmerizing scenery from the water. Following a delightful lunch in Lucerne, our local guide will lead us through the city’s charming streets, unveiling its rich history and cultural heritage. From the iconic Chapel Bridge to the picturesque Lucerne Castle, immerse yourself in the enchanting ambiance of the Old Town, adorned with 16th-century architecture and quaint alleyways.

On day three, we’ll embark on a seamless transfer to Stans for an exclusive tour of the Pilatus Aircraft Factory. Delve into the fascinating world of aviation as we explore the birthplace of your esteemed aircraft, gaining insight into the meticulous craftsmanship and innovation behind these marvels of engineering. Expand your passion for flying as you witness firsthand the intricate process of bringing these magnificent aircraft to life. Join us for an unforgettable adventure that combines the thrill of flying with the discovery of Europe’s most captivating destinations.

Reykjavik, Iceland

After breakfast and an in-depth briefing, we will launch for our over water crossing to Reykjavik, Iceland. There will be a stop in Prestwick for lunch and to refuel.

Upon arrival, we will transfer to Hotel Borg where we will enjoy an overnight stay to prepare ourselves for our tomorrow’s flight.

Ilulissat, Greenland

We will fly to Ilulissat. Upon arrival, clear customs and transfer to the Hotel Arctic.

Afterwards we will venture out by boat into the Ice Fjord, cruising a fascinating variety of floes and icebergs.

On a clear day, the landscape is truly surreal. Hundreds of icebergs surround Ilulissat. They vary in shape from flat- topped hunks to jagged mountain peaks, and vary in size from small doghouses to mega-cruise ships and larger. And that’s just the part above the surface! The Ice Fjord, which is close to Hotel Arctic, was included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List at the 28th of The World Heritage Committee in the summer of 2004.

The Ice Fjord contains one of the biggest and most active glaciers in the world. Its 3,000 square kilometre area advances at a rate of 20 metres per day. The glacier “calves” about 10 % of the inland ice that is pressed out into the sea from Greenland, and there is nothing in the whole world that resembles it.

The following day after breakfast, we will head west for our return home.

A technical stop has been arranged in Goose Bay for refueling before continuing onwards to Bangor, Maine, to clear US Customs. For those based on the west coast of the United States, an alternate stop to clear US customs can be arranged. Afterwards, we will all go our separate ways home.
