Our Journey continues to Gander, Newfoundland, where we will take a charter flight (not included) to Fogo Island. Named for the fires observed by passing sailors, Fogo Island is situated along “Iceberg Alley,” offering stunning views of the North Atlantic Ocean. After our short return charter flight to Gander, fly your airplane to the charming St Pierre, a hidden gem in the French archipelago of St. Pierre and Miquelon. Upon arrival, we will transfer to Terrasses du Port. This accommodation, nestled by the harbor, offers stunning views and warm hospitality, making it the perfect property for our exploration. From the moment of arrival, the island’s tranquil atmosphere and colorful village streets invite us to slow down and soak in the unique blend of French culture and unspoiled natural beauty.
The next day, we will explore Sailor’s Island by boat, where remnants of its fishing and pioneer history are visible in the church, school, and cemetery. We will visit the Archipelitude Museum and Arch Museum, followed by lunch at the heritage-listed Maison Jézéquel, a traditional fisherman’s home with exhibits on the island’s fishing culture. Afterwards, we will sail back to St. Pierre, enjoying breathtaking views of moss-covered cliffs, puffins nesting along the coast, and seals sunbathing in hidden coves.
